Dare to Care?

For the thousands of children living in South Carolina’s foster care system, life can be full of instability and trauma. While foster care is meant to protect children from unsafe home conditions, removal from a child's familiar territory and people often presents new challenges. When a child legally comes of age, the challenges only deepen as young people are cast out into the world, unsupported and unprepared for what adult life may bring.

At Premature Millionaires, Inc., we are working to change the narratives of children and teens in foster care, promoting new beginnings and positive outcomes. Our impact centers on empowering vulnerable young people currently in foster care or who have aged out of the state foster care system by providing advocacy, mentoring, financial wellness coaching, and other educational and inspirational resources designed to help them survive and thrive.

Based in Greenville, South Carolina, we help the young people we serve meet their needs by offering housing and furniture assistance, school supplies and scholarships, college preparatory and career guidance, internships, legal guidance, and emotional support groups and services. As we grow, we will also work to combat human trafficking as it affects children in foster care and provide rehabilitation services to justice-involved youth.

The organization was founded by attorney Bianca Williams, who experienced most of her preteen and teen years living in foster care. Born to a teen mom, Bianca endured a childhood full of trauma and abuse, leading to placement in foster care. Although her youth was tumultuous, she poured herself into her education after she “aged out” of the state foster care system and became an attorney.

Despite her exterior success, she bore many scars from her childhood. Eventually, she mustered the courage to face the trauma she experienced so she could find true and lasting recovery. As part of her healing journey, she vowed to pay it forward by taking a stand for other children and teens in South Carolina and across the country experiencing life in the foster care system.

At Premature Millionaires, we believe children and teens in foster care are more than statistics. The system calls these young people "foster," but we know they have the seeds of greatness within them. We know they are millionaires in the making on the brink of wonderful things with the right nurturing and support. We are committed to working tirelessly to change the grim statistics about children in foster care by covering them in love as we nurture them to fully bloom. Join us!
